Principal's Message:

As we wrap up our first couple of weeks, Fairgrove is fully alive with energy!

The beginning of the school year is full of transitions. While students are excited to see friends and meet their new teachers, it is also completely normal for them to experience a bit of fatigue or adjustments as they get comfortable.

What We Are Seeing and Supporting
  • Routines: Moving from summer schedules back to structured early mornings and focused learning environments takes physical and mental stamina. You might notice your child is extra tired or a bit emotional after school right now.
  • Testing Boundaries: As children begin to feel secure in their new environments, it is natural for them to test social and behavioral boundaries. We view these moments as valuable teaching opportunities, helping students practice RICE- respect, integrity, cooperation, and empathy.
  • Building Community: Teachers are spending significant time establishing clear classroom norms, practicing daily routines, and helping students build strong relationships with peers and staff.
How You Can Help at Home
  • Prioritize Rest: Extra sleep and consistent bedtime routines do wonders for helping children process long, active school days.
  • Unpack the Day Gently: Ask open-ended questions like, "What made you smile today?" or "What was something challenging you today?" rather than asking for a full daily report.
  • Connect with Us: If you notice persistent anxieties or significant changes in your child’s behavior at home, please reach out to their classroom teacher or the office staff.
Thank you for your partnership, patience, and support as we guide our students through these foundational first weeks!
