Computer Lab

Welcome!

Our kindergartners visit the computer lab to develop hand-eye control using the mouse while playing educational games. All Kindergarten classes attend computer lab at least once a week. Most Kinder classes have a weekly sentence to type using Word 2013. Starfall is used for ELA and Math practice.

Our first grade students visit the computer lab once a week. New curriculum this year is McGraw-Hill's "ConnectEd." Students really love this web-based program and can access the site from anywhere with their logins. By the end of first grade students are expected to use their district logins and passwords independently.

Our 2nd & 3rd grade students visit the computer lab once a week. Classes use the district typing program, "Type to Learn." By the end of the school year students will be able to successfully type a paragraph in Word 2013. McGraw-Hill's "ConnectEd" supplement curriculum for ELA and Math. Brain Pop Jr for Science and Social Studies.

Our fourth grade students use Type to Learn weekly and begin to use district Google Drive accounts for word processing, internet research, digital presentations and group projects. Fourth graders complete their California Natives report with internet research. Students' Google Drive accounts are on a closed network and are only accessible by the students' teachers and their class.

Our fifth and sixth grade students use "Type to Learn" weekly and Google Drive for word processing and presentations. All fifth graders complete their State Report and Solar System report using internet research. Sixth graders are expected to be able to word process their reports and navigate the internet in preparation for middle school
